What it is

Colour correction designed for deeper lip tones

Naturally deeper or cool-toned lips need a different approach to permanent makeup. Dark lip neutralisation uses carefully chosen warm pigments to gently lift cool and dark undertones first, so that colour can heal soft, warm and even - instead of fighting the undertone beneath.

It is a specialist skill, and one Megan is known for across Southampton and Hampshire. Treated like lighter lips, deeper lip tones can heal grey, ashy or purple - something Megan regularly corrects for clients who were treated elsewhere. Once neutralised, your lips are ready for a soft, true colour, from a natural tint to a fuller lipstick effect.

Questions

A few common ones

Anything else, just message Megan and ask.

Why did my lip blush heal purple or grey?

Standard lip blush pigments are chosen for lighter lips. Applied to deeper or cool-toned lips without neutralising first, the cool undertone shows through and the colour can heal grey, ashy or purple. It is one of the most common things Megan corrects for clients treated elsewhere.

Do I need neutralisation before lip blush?

Not everyone does - it depends on your natural undertone. Megan will assess your lips honestly at a free consultation and tell you whether neutralisation is needed first, or whether you can go straight to lip blush.

Can you correct work done somewhere else?

Yes - this is a regular part of Megan's work. Existing pigment is assessed at your consultation and a staged plan is built to neutralise and correct it, before finishing with the colour you wanted in the first place.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies with your undertone and any existing pigment, which is why the treatment is planned properly at consultation rather than guessed. Deeper undertones and older pigment generally need more sessions than lighter ones.
